Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim, Special Envoy of the President of the Maldives, departs to attend the Turkish Presidential Inauguration Ceremony

Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Asim, has departed on an official visit to Turkey, to attend the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony of His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Turkey.

The Ceremony is scheduled to be held on 9 July 2018, in Ankara. Foreign Minister Asim is attending the Ceremony as the Special Envoy of the President of the Maldives, His Excellency Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. Minister Asim is accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Shujau, Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Maldives and Turkey has a long history of close relations and 28 May 2018 marked the 39th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
