President declares 6th of March as the National Patriotism Day

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has declared 6th of March as the National Patriotism day from this year onwards.

Tharika, a national campaign outlined in the 2017 Presidential Address aimed at promoting unity and culture along with boosting religious faith and national spirit, was inaugurated on 6th March 2017. It is an important national camping to instil patriotism within the society.

Ministry of Home Affairs and Tharika Committee will carry out all administrative responsibilities of marking the day at national level, in association with all the Government offices and institutions.
