BANGLADESH AMBASSADOR PAYS COURTESY CALL ON THE PRESIDENT

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh H.E. Rear Admiral Akhtar Habib, has paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, this morning at the President’s Office.

During the call, the President thanked the Ambassador for making the call and for the good wishes from the Government of Bangladesh and its people. Shedding light on the strong bilateral ties that exist between the Maldives and Bangladesh, President Solih noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, both countries have enjoyed many years of mutual trust and understanding. He also expressed interests to further strengthen the existing relations. 

The President assured the Ambassador of his commitment to work closely with the Government of Bangladesh to enhance collaborations in areas that are of mutual benefit to both countries.

During the call, the Bangladeshi Ambassador congratulated President Solih on his assumption of Office and further discussed ways to reinforce the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries.

Furthermore, President Solih extended gratitude to the Bangladeshi government for their continuous support and assistance provided to the people of Maldives.
