THE NON-RESIDENT AMBASSADOR OF ZAMBIA PRESENTS HER LETTER OF CREDENCE TO THE PRESIDENT
The new Non-Resident Ambassador of Zambia to the Maldives, Her Excellency, Judith K.K.Kan’goma-Kapijimpanga presented her Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.
At the ceremony, the President welcomed the Ambassador to the Maldives and congratulated her on the commencement of her term as the Ambassador of Zambia to the Maldives.
During the call, the President highlighted the strong bilateral ties that exist between the Maldives and Zambia. The President also noted that the Maldives and Zambia share common views on an array of issues of mutual interest, specifically on issues related to the international arena, and highlighted importance of women empowerment. The President also exchanged ideas with the Zambian Ambassador, regarding matters where the Maldives and Zambia could share knowledge and experience.
Moreover, President Yameen and the Zambian Ambassador discussed ways of further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, and on exploring further areas of cooperation, including the tourism sector and human resource development.
The Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude for receiving her as the Ambassador of Zambia to the Maldives, and the delegation, conveyed greetings and well wishes from the President of Zambia to President Yameen and the Maldivian people. The Ambassador also expressed hope and confidence to continue working closely with the Maldives, and further consolidating the existing relations between the two countries.
The President was accompanied at the call by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office, H.E. Mohamed Naseer.
