Foreign Minister meets the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan

Foreign Minister His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Shahid along with the Minister of Finance His Excellency Ibrahim Ameer, and the Minister of Economic Development His Excellency Uz Fayyaz Ismail met with the His Excellency Hiroshige Seko, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

Minister Seko, warmly welcomed Minister Shahid and delegation, and exchanged views on further strengthening the economic cooperation between the Maldives and Japan. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister thanked Minister Seko for the generous assistance extended to the Maldives under Japan’s Economic and Social Development Programmes.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Maldives Embassy in Tokyo.
