Minister of State for Foreign Affairs meets the Senior Vice President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, met with the Senior Vice President of JICA, Dr Junichi Yamada, this afternoon in Tokyo.

During the meeting, the State Minister thanked JICA for the various development projects steered by JICA in Maldives that has lifted the lives and well being of Maldivians over the past few decades. The State Minister noted that JICA’s programs have enriched people-to-people contact between the two countries and brought much needed development assistance to the country. The State Minister and the Vice President also discussed the recent high-level exchange of visits between the countries and discussed avenues for future collaboration.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of Maldives to Japan, His Excellency Ibrahim Uvais, First Secretary at the Embassy of Maldives in Japan, Adam Hamid, Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Zeena Mohamed Didi and Mohamed Thahseen, Second Secretary at the Maldives Embassy in Japan.
