President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has this evening participated in the ceremony to mark the completion of five projects in Fuvammulah City.

During the ceremony held this evening, the President initiated sewerage services, water services, inaugurated housing units and nature park, and marked the completion of the harbour revetment project in Fuvammulah City.

Earlier today, President Yameen visited Feydhoo of Addu City, and inaugurated the water services of Feydhoo, Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo, and marked the completion of the land reclamation project in Feydhoo.

Prior to his visit to Feydhoo, the President visited Hulhumeedhoo yesterday, and inaugurated sewerage services, water services, housing units and the Addu Fisheries Complex, and marked the completion of the shore protection project in Hulhumeedhoo. He also inaugurated the sewerage services, housing units, nature park and solar hybrid power system in Hithadhoo Island yesterday evening.

On his current visit to Addu City and Fuvammulah City, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has this afternoon met with the people of Maradhoo and Maradhoofeydhoo.

As part of this tour the President visited Hulhumeedhoo yesterday, and inaugurated sewerage services, water services, housing units and the Addu Fisheries Complex, and marked the completion of the shore protection project in Hulhumeedhoo. He also inaugurated the sewerage services, housing units, nature park and solar hybrid power system in Hithadhoo Island yesterday evening.

This morning, President Yameen visited Feydhoo and inaugurated the water services of Feydhoo, Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo, and marked the completion of the land reclamation project in Feydhoo.

During the tour, the President is scheduled to visit Fuvahmulah City to initiate sewerage services and water services, inaugurate housing units and nature park, and to mark the completion of the harbour revetment project.

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated the nothing is more important than defending our nation’s freedom and independence. The President made this remark while speaking at the ceremony held this morning to inaugurate water service in Feydhoo, Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo, and mark the completion of the land reclamation project in Feydhoo.

Speaking in this regard the President called upon everyone to prioritise protecting our religion and maintaining the peace and harmony of the nation. He also appealed to everyone to strive towards achieving a united and peaceful society.

At the ceremony, the President underscored his ambition of bringing a new era of development to the country. He especially highlighted the development projects planned for the advancement of the health sector.

In this regard he noted that developing the area of telemedicine and establishing a specialised hospital for women was part of his upcoming electoral pledges.

Moreover, the President reiterated plans to utilise renewable energy as 50% of the power source needed in the inhabited islands.

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that the administration’s efforts were put towards transforming all the densely populated areas into cities and to develop the essential infrastructure and facilitate necessary amenities for the required transformational developments. The President made this remark while speaking at the ceremony held this evening to mark the completion of four projects in Hithadhoo of Addu City.

Emphasizing the future educational policy of this administration, President Yameen stated that he would include information and communication technology as a mandatory subject in the school curriculum, under the all-inclusive educational policy of the current administration. He further reiterated the decision to double the number of scholarships facilitated by the government, in the coming years. He also underscored that facilitating the youth with more employment opportunities was one of his main priorities.
