President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi & Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan have reiterated their commitment to further strengthen and diversify existing relations between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates.

The discussions were held while meeting on the margins of the Zayed Sustainability Awards Ceremony held in Abu Dhabi today.

The UAE Crown Prince reassured of commitment for continuous support to the Maldives, especially in the areas of fisheries, farming and agriculture.

The Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Maldives, H.E. Bryce Hutchesson, paid his farewell call on Vice President Faisal Naseem, this afternoon, at the President’s Office.

 During the call, the Vice President conveyed thanks and appreciation for the continuous support and services provided to the Maldives during the Ambassador’s tenure. 

Noting the strong relationship between the two countries, the Vice President expressed hope and confidence that the Maldives and Australia will continue working together on issues of mutual concern to further strengthen these existing ties.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived at the United Arab Emirates on an official visit early this morning.

The President is making the visit at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of the UAE to attend the Zayed Sustainability Awards Ceremony and the Inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, to be held on 14th January 2019.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed to the United Arab Emirates on an official visit this evening.

The President is making the visit at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of the UAE to attend the Zayed Sustainability Awards Ceremony and the Inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, to be held on 14th January 2019.

The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Zhang Lizhong, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, this morning, at the President’s Office.

The President conveyed assurance of his administration’s commitment to maintaining good relations with China, and expressed deep gratitude for the invaluable assistance extended by China over the years, towards the Maldives’ socio-economic development.
