30 July 2015, New Delhi – The Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Ahmed Mohamed (Ambassador of Maldives to India) attended the State Funeral of the Former President of India His Excellency Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. Former President Kalam passed away on 27 July 2015 while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Shillong.
14 September 2015, Male’ – The new Ambassador of Belgium accredited to the Maldives, H.E. Mr. Jan Luykx has presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, on Monday morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Yameen congratulated Ambassador Luykx on the commencement of his term.
