Chinese Ambassador pays courtesy call on President Solih
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Zhang Lizhong, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, this morning, at the President’s Office.
The President conveyed assurance of his administration’s commitment to maintaining good relations with China, and expressed deep gratitude for the invaluable assistance extended by China over the years, towards the Maldives’ socio-economic development.
The President and Ambassador spoke with regard to the progress of Chinese commercial ventures and economic projects in the Maldives. Furthermore, the President and Ambassador expressed their shared optimism that future years will witness strengthened cooperation on issues of mutual importance, and an increasing number of tourist visits to the Maldives by Chinese nationals.
Concluding the call, the Ambassador conveyed warm wishes on behalf of the Government of China towards President Solih, and to the people of the Maldives. His Excellency reiterated the President’s positive sentiments with regard to building upon the existing strong foundation of fruitful bilateral ties between our two countries.
