Foreign Minister calls on the Deputy Prime Minister of Japan

Foreign Minister, His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Shahid paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Taro Aso, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Japan.

During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Finance of Japan this afternoon, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Shahid discussed various aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries. Minister Shahid also thanked the Government of Japan for the close and friendly manner in which it has always regarded the Maldives. The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to implementing the vision articulated by President Mohamed Ibrahim Solih for further economic and social development of the Maldives.

Minister Shahid was accompanied by the Minister of Finance His Excellency Ibrahim Ameer, and the Minister of Economic Development His Excellency Uz Fayyaz Ismail, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Maldives in Japan.
