Maldives to host the Third Maldives-EU Policy Dialogue

The Government of the Maldives will host the Third Maldives-EU Policy Dialogue tomorrow. The Maldives-EU Policy Dialogue is an initiative taken by the Government of Maldives in 2015 to strengthen the existing ties of friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and the European Union.

This year, nine Ambassadors and Heads of Missions from EU member countries will participate in the Dialogue. The EU Delegation will be led by H.E. Mr. Tung-Lai Margue, Ambassador of the European Union to the Maldives. The Maldives Delegation will be led by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This year’s Dialogue will cover the following thematic areas; human rights, democracy consolidation and strengthening of the justice sector, combating terrorism, radicalisation, safety of foreign tourists, climate change, fisheries and social sector development.
