Minister of Foreign Affairs meets the Governor of Japan Bank for International Cooperation

Foreign Minister, His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, accompanied by Minister of Finance His Excellency Ibrahim Ameer, and the Minister of Economic Development His Excellency Uz Fayyaz Ismail met with met with the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Mr. Tadashi Maeda, today in Tokyo.

The Ministers briefed the Governor on the economic agenda of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, while reiterating Maldives’ commitment to embark on policies that are sustainable, environmentally friendly and allow for greater economic diversification. The Governor of JBIC and the delegation also discussed ways to enhance cooperation on future Maldives development processes.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of Maldives to Japan, His Excellency Ibrahim Uvais, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Maldives Embassy in Tokyo.
