THE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE REFUTES ALLEGATIONS MADE REGARDING FALSE LETTER SENT TO FINANCE MINISTRY

The President’s Office has issued a statement refuting the allegations made regarding a false letter being sent to the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, with the letterhead of the President’s Office.

The statement issued by the President’s Office stated that the reference number of the letter does not match with the unique number identification assigned to the President’s Office, and hence disproves authenticity of the letter. All government institutions are assigned a unique identification number used in all official communication.

The statement further condemned, in the strongest terms, the misuse of the letter head of the President’s Office, in an attempt to tarnish the good standing and reputation of the administration, and spread false news to the people of Maldives.
